Passed peacefully away at his home in Portugal Cove, surrounded by his wife and family on Monday, January 16th, 2012. Predeceased by his father William Murphy; mother Madeline (Oliver) Murphy; brother Frank Murphy; and brother-in-law Gordon Tizzard. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 60 years Pearl; daughters Sharon Churchill (Don), Elaine Abbott (Vern), Collette (Brian Gavin); sons Randy (Janet), Rod (Donna), Jim, Brian (Darlene), David (Kim), Doug (Sherry); 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Alice Tizzard; half sister-in-law Olive Klovick; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Wednesday and Thursday from 12 noon - 5 p.m. and
7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 20th, 2012 from Holy Rosary Parish, Portugal Cove at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Portugal Cove. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
