Peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, January 16, 2012, of Aletha Mae Hughes (Doyle-Wheatley-Alchorn) of Charlottetown, age 70 years.
She is survived by daughters and son, Donna-Marie MacLeod (Rick) of Stratford, Carolyn Read (Brian) of Sherwood, Cathy Theriault (Lawrence) of Regina, Sask., Pattie Doyle (Randy Crosby) of Charlottetown, and Jamie Doyle of Charlottetown. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Paul Hughes (Helen), Imelda Squires (Willard deceased), Vincent Hughes (Delores), Reggie Hughes (Judy), Margaret Hughes (John), Shirley Bradley (Kenneth), Helen Coffin (Sterling), Mary Affleck (Earl) and Eileen Curran (Pat).
She was predeceased by husbands, Pat Doyle and Cyril Wheatley; parents, Charlie and Loretta Hughes (nee Ostridge) of Fort Augustus; infant daughter, Lisa Doyle; brothers, Francis, Earl and Donnie Hughes; nephew, Deryl Curran; and niece, Darlene Hughes.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 Thursday morning, then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment later in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home Wednesday 2- 4 and 7-9 p.m.
