Card of Thanks
We, the family of the late William Green wish to express our sincere thanks to the hundreds of people who braved the snow to attend his funeral on January 13, 2012 at Sydney Memorial Chapel. Thank you to his honorary pallbearers and dear friends Raymond Tobin, Timmy Sullivan, Bill Champion, Albert Maroon, Hubert Rhymes and Wilfred MacLean; your presence was comforting. Our sincere thank you to Reverend Karen Quirk for praying with us at the hour of his death, to Reverend Laura McCue for officiating at his funeral and visiting Bill at home with Communion, and also to Weldon Smith (our former Arch-Deacon and Bill’s former AYPA friend) for reading the lesson. To Wayne Weatherbee and staff thank you for your ongoing support. For all Bill’s care-givers Dr. Jim MacKillop and staff, Dr. Mark Sampson for his presence, Dr. Paul MacDonald (Heart Functioning Unit) and staff, Dr. John Ritter (Palliative Care) and staff, Diabetic Clinic, Lynne Anne La Fitte and staff (Continuing Care), Sydney River Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy, Dr. Asim and staff, also nurses and doctors at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their excellent care on his several admittances and family members who were always nearby when we needed them…..thank you, thank you. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Ian MacIsaac of Local 1178, organist Flora Gardiner, reception caterer Jody Oakley, and Lillian Miller of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to friends, neighbours and family who delivered food to our house, sent flowers, cards, multitude of online condolences, phone calls, monetary donations to charities, and the people who travelled many miles to attend his funeral. Without your support our hearts would have been heavier, thank you for making our burden lighter. Bill would have been very proud.
