Helen Margaret Standen of Kamloops passed away on October 10, 2006 at 89 years of age. She is survived by her loving son Fred (Donna) and their children Jim (Christy), Kevin (Beth) and Travis (Jennifer); daughter Margaret (Larry) Northwick and their children Ryan, Scott (Jennifer), and Murray (Summer); brothers Albert Seraphim and Robert Wilcox; sister Marjorie Lamarche; and she was a proud "G.G." to nine great grandchildren. Predeceased by husband James E. Standen in 1990, grandson Jason Standen in 1982, brothers Frank and Joe Wilcox, and sisters Nora Belcham, Alice Millar, and Dorothy Bonnett. Helen was born on October 23, 1916 in Kamloops and she attended St. Ann's Academy and was an original member of O.L.P.H. and the C.W.L. Some of the things that mom loved to do was "Lunch" and Donna's dinners, she loved to laugh, socialize and play crib. Helen's passion was to knit for her family and to paint with oils and when she was not doing that Helen was embroidering. Mom was always there for us, offering advice and support. Her faith sustained her through all her trials and sorrows. She remained upbeat to the end. Special thanks to Dianne and Wayne for making her feel so welcomed and loved in your home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16th, 2006 at the Church with interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery. Donations may be made in Helen's name to the R.I.H. Foundation, 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops, BC, V2C 2T1, in lieu of flowers.
