Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the age of 75 in the presence of his family. Formerly of Brownsdale, Trinity Bay and currently residing in St. John's. Survived by his wife Lorraine (Austin) and leaving her with 54 years of happy memories. Cherishing his life, are their four children: Don (Sharon), Raymond (Arlene), Glenys (Shawn) and Carolyn; his grandchildren who provided him with much joy: Jamie, Jennifer, Michael, Tim, Robyn, Daniel, Erin, Alex and Cassandra; his great-grandchildren who he thought the world of and enjoyed their antics: Julia and Brooklyn. Predeceased by his mom and dad and sister Elsie, and survived by sisters Olive and Marion. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Don retired from the Federal Government after working 35 years as a radio operator and inspector on land and sea. He was blessed with 20 years of happy retirement and enjoyed his many trips down south among his good friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday and Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Cremation to follow. No flowers by request.
