On October 16, 2006 Mrs. maria Irma Hettinger passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops at the age of 86 years. She is survived by her loving son Joseph (Bernadette) of Kamloops; her four grandchildren Joseph (Dina), Christopher (Tammy), Curtis and Vance (Heather) and her five great grandchildren Nathan, Stephany, Jonathan, Joseph and Melanie. Maria was predeceased by her husband Joseph and her daughter Maria. She was born in Ujker, Hungary on April 26, 1920 to her parents Antal and Anna Talaber. Maria married Joseph Hettinger on April 12, 1944. Together they raised their children, son Joseph and daughter Maria. Maria and her family moved to Canada in 1957. They settled in Flin Flon, Manitoba, where she continued her career as a seamstress. Maria was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who doted over her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always there for everyone in her family, they were the most important thing in her life and she valued them above anything else. Maria had many friends and was active with the Roman Catholic Church in Flin Flon. Her beautiful crocheted items were sought after. Maria will be greatly missed by her family and all who had the pleasure of calling her friend. The Reverend Father Derrick Cameron will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Cathedral, 255 Nicola Street. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Service arrangements are entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service, telephone 374-1454.
