CAISSIE, Helen Bernadette – 87 of Union St. Pictou passed away January 21, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Shediac, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Emile & Virginia (Cormier) Caissie. She worked at Basil’s Restaurant and later as a housekeeper and custodian. Helen loved to play bingo, was an avid bingo player and loved to bake.
She is survived by sons, Raymond and Michael; sisters, Stella and Raymonde; brothers Emile Jr. (Laurie); Camille (Thelma); Gerald (Betty); Joseph and Ernie. She was predeceased by sisters, Geneva, Rita, Loretta and Eva May; brothers Romeo, Rodger, Louis and Leo. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral mass will take place 11:00 AM Wednesday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to Stella Maris Building Fund.
