Patricia Alma Merrick of Kamloops passed away on November 22, 2009 at 89 years of age.
She is survived by her children Gerry (Don) Grayston of Barriere, Beverley Merrick of Kamloops, and Andy (Joanne) Merrick of Alberta; grandchildren Tony Allen, Deb (Kevin) Griffin, Rod (Sheila) Allen, Greg Allen, Sarah Merrick, Duncan Merrick, and Michael Merrick; numerous great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Wendy Merrick.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband Fred Merrick and son Scott Merrick.
Patricia was born in Breaston, UK on September 9, 1920 to Alexander and Alma Halliday. She worked in the Land Army from 1939-1942 and then worked as a photographic artist for many years. She became a Brown Owl until moving to Canada in 1967. Patricia and Fred were active members of the Elks and Royal Purple and were the first couple to be Exalted Ruler and Honoured Royal Lady at the same time. She then worked as a night supervisor at a group home for several years before retiring to enjoy her piano, painting and gardening. She will be missed by her family and little dog, Baja.
