GOODWIN, ELEANOR - Mrs. Eleanor Marjorie (Shea) Goodwin, wife of Earl Goodwin of Big Ferry Road, Miramichi passed away on Sunday, January 22 at Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 87. Born in Ferry Road NB she was he daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Loggie) Shea, Eleanor was a retired Elementary school teacher at Salen Elementary School in Sackville and attended Calvin Presbyterian Church. She was a member of AMS Women’s League and Bible Society. Besides her husband, she is survived by her two sisters, Margaret McKenzie of Sudbury, ON and Mary (Leslie) Gray of Miramichi, NB, a brother, Douglas (Peggy) Shea of Garson, ON, a sister-in-law, Sandra Shea of Miramichi, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Legere, two brothers, Eugene Shea and Francis Shea, a brother-in-law, Kenneth McKenzie and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Shea.
Mrs. Eleanor Marjorie Goodwin is resting at St James Presbyterian Church in Port Elgin on Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of words of remembrance at 6 p.m. with Rev Sandy Sutherland officiating, and then at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Highway, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2.p.m. with Rev. Derek Krunys officiating, assisted by Rev. Gillis Smith and Rev. Fred Douwsma. Burial will be in Moorefield Cemetery in the spring. In Eleanor’s memory, donations may be made to St James Presbyterian Church in Port Elgin, Moorefield Cemetery of Calvin Presbyterian Church well project would be appreciated.
