Douglas Peter Walker
We, the family of the late Douglas Peter Walker, would like to express our sincere thanks to our family and friends for the kindness shown to us during the loss of my husband, our father, grandfather, and brother. To our many friends and neighbours who phoned, sent flowers, Mass cards, emails, online condolences, memorials, donations, brought food and remembered us in their prayers, we are forever grateful. To all those who attended Dad's wake and funeral, we thank you for your love and support. Our sincere thanks to Father Paul Abbass, Father Dan MacInnis, and Father Ajit for the beautiful mass and tribute. Thanks to Dougie's cousin Winnie Chafe, and her daughter Pat Chafe, for their beautiful violin and piano music. Thank you to the grandchildren who were pallbearers, Natasha, Joel, Francis, Kelcie, Patrick Douglas, Stephen, Mary Kate, Meaghan, Sarah Jane and Hannah. Thanks as well to the readers, Patrick Lahey, Eric MacRae, and Kareen Walker; to the Eucharistic ministers and offertory presenters, Dan Cash and Dougie's three sisters, Mary Jeanette Bennett, Rhodena Currie, and Christina MacDonald, and to St. Mary's Women's Club for the beautiful reception. Special thanks to altar server and wonderful friend, Roddie Musgrave, who visited Dougie regularly throughout his illness; to Dougie's sisters, sister-in-law, and their families for the unfailing love and support; to Sheldon Chant and the staff of Chants Funeral Home for their professional care and support. Appreciation is also extended to all of Dougie's caretakers, VON, Home Care workers, Palliative Care and the doctors, especially Dr. Greg Myatt and Janice Black, whose care allowed Dougie to stay at home in Frenchvale during his illness.
