Dorothy Joanne McGrath (nee Walters) passed away at home in Ottawa on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at age 62 with her beloved husband Vincent Guenette at her side.
Dorothy was an alumnus of Cape Breton University and Carleton University. She was a social worker at The Royal in Ottawa.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Vincent Guenette; sons, Matthew McGrath (Lesli) and their daughter Finlay — Calgary — and James “Seamus” McGrath (Lineke) — Abbotsford, B.C. Also surviving is Dorothy’s father Perry Walters, sister Shauna Walters, brother Tim Walters and Dorothy’s dear friend Donna Lynch, all residing in Sydney.
Predeceasing Dorothy are her mother Isabel Walters, sister Catherine Walters and first husband Derek McGrath.
Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by Vincent’s children Martin (Brittany), Dominique (Alex) and their children Alexis, Kassy and Chloe.
Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St., Ottawa, on Thursday, Jan. 26 after 2 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 5 p.m.
