Of Hant’s Harbour, passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Palliative Care Unit of the L.A. Miller Centre on Monday January 24, 2012. Malchus “Mac” Ash, aged 77 years, will always be known for his great sense of humour and was a retired member of the Canadian Coast Guard. Predeceased by his parents, Moses and Mary Jane Ash; brothers: Henry and Ed. Leaving to mourn, his devoted wife Mary (nee Neary); children: Maureen (Roy Burry); and Todd (Kelly); special grandson, Cody Ash; brothers: Justin (Maggie) and James (Linda); sisters-in-law Betty Ash, Eileen Squires (Ed), Barb Snow (Greg), and Emily Neary; brothers-in-law: Francis Neary (Linda), Jim Neary (Pat) and Don Neary; along with many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to Mac Blundon, Barb Snow, Bun and Jerome Neary, the staff at the Health Sciences Centre 5 South B and Palliative Care team, your kindness and care will never be forgotten. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday January 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., with interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Portugal Cove.
