RICHARD, VIOLA - Viola Richard, 100, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Villa Providence in Shediac where she was residing. Born February 26, 1911 in Cocagne, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Marie (Melanson) Després. Viola is survived by many nieces, nephews, and the Saulnier family whom she considered to be her family: Henri (Catherine), Jill Fleiger (Joe), Delisle (Yolande), late Jocelyne and late Margaret, as well as special friends: Yvon and Martine Albert. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. She is predeceased by her husband, Adolphe Richard; a sister, Agathe Arsenault; her brothers: Nazaire, Léo, Amedée, Albert and Pacifique Després.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Thursday, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of departure (10:50). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, 220 St. George Street, Moncton, on Friday January 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
