It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Mona Siepierski on Friday, January 27, 2012 at An Cala Unit at C.B. Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in North Sydney, the daughter of the late Mike and Anne (Deveaux) Jabalee and also Muriel Jabalee. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed.
Mona worked for many years in retail management before her retirement. She served on several boards and was strongly involved in politics. She was an avid fan of her grandsons' hockey and her granddaughter's cheerleading.
Mona is survived by daughters Carol Ann, at home, Janice, Howie Center, Diane, at home, Nancy (Jim Farrell), Howie Center; son Peter (Ainsley), Howie Center; special daughter-in-law Mary and sister Brenda Colbourne (Kevin), North Sydney. She is also survived by the joy of her life - grandchildren Robyn and Courtney, Kyle and Brandon, great granddaughter Shaelynn Marks and her special pal, Petey, along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Chester Siepierski; sons Michael, infant John David; sisters Shirley Jabalee, Suzanne Serroul and brother Michael Jabalee.
Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at St. Mary's Polish Church, Whitney Pier with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Donations in memory may by made to Palliative Care Unit at C.B. Regional Hospital or a charity of choice.
