It is with great sadness that we, the family of Blaine Carpenter, announce his sudden passing at his residence on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009 at the age of 63.
Born in River Ryan, Blaine was the son of the late John and Bridget (Quinn) Carpenter. He was a member of the Parish Church of St. Leonard’s .
Blaine was employed with Nova Scotia Power for a number of years and was owner/operator of B & J Dairy on Union Highway until his retirement .
Blaine enjoyed hunting and fishing especially his many trips to Washabuck with his late brother, James. He enjoyed watching and cheering his favourite two sport teams - Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. Blaine had many friends who enjoyed his company and lasting friendship.
Blaine is survived by his brothers, Bernie (Jean) and Jackie, New Waterford and by his sister, Evelyn (Jack) Walsh, Bridgewater. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Blaine was predeceased by his brother, James and sisters, Mamie MacKinnon and Carmel MacDonald.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Parish Church of St. Leonard’s, Mount Carmel Avenue, New Waterford, with Fr. Paul MacNeil officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be a luncheon immediately following the mass at St. Agnes Hall, Convent Street, New Waterford, all are welcomed to attend.
