RICHARD, JEANNETTE DORINE - Surrounded by her loving family, Jeannette Dorine Richard passed away on Sunday, January 29th, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at the age of 81. Born in Memramcook, she was the daughter of Dominique and Evangeline (Gauvin) Landry and the loving wife of the late J. George Richard. She is survived by her children, Denise (Stephen) Cochrane, Janice (Michael) Sauter, Suzanne Richard and Marc (Cheryl) Richard, and her grandchildren, Danielle, Elise and Nicholas Sauter, Emily Cochrane and Claire Richard. Jeannette graduated from the Hotel Dieu de l'Assomption in Moncton, receiving her Registered Nursing Diploma in 1951. Early in her career she taught nursing and then travelled throughout the province working for the Red Cross Transfusion Services. Following the births of her children, she eventually returned to nursing at the D.E.C.H., where she worked for over twenty years. After her retirement in 1995, she devoted her time to her many passions in life including travel, gardening, reading and music while continuing to nurture and care for many members of her family. Always an optimist and cheerful person, she especially cherished her annual extended family gatherings. Above all, she was a loving and generous mother who was very proud of her children and their families.
Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home on Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Ste. Anne-des-Pays-Bas on Friday, February 3rd, 2012 at 12 noon with Fr. Donald Savoie as celebrant. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery at a later date.
