KATHLEEN HONORA WALKER (ELLIS) August 19, 1919 - November 7, 2006 Kathleen left us peacefully on November 7, 2006. Predeceased by her husband James in 1985, Kathleen leaves behind to celebrate her life, son Jim, daughter-in-law Nora, daughter Kathy (California), grandchildren; James, Rebecca, Lana and Graham, great-grandchildren; Alexander and Nicholas, special friend Barbara Clarke, and her many friends at Thrupp Manor and Ponderosa Lodge. Kathleen was born in Liverpool, England, eldest daughter of Fred and Nora Parry. One day while strolling with friends on Blackpool Pier, she was offered some strawberries by a handsome young man. She accepted, and shortly afterward Kathleen and James were married in 1942. The young family of four immigrated to Canada in 1953 and enjoyed an exciting life in their new country, living, working and raising their famijly in London, Ontario. Family camping trips were a highlight of those years. Kathleen and James retired in 1975 and traveled extensively, settling in Victoria and finally in Kamloops. Kathleen had a sharp wit and a love for writing and reading - a passion she inspired in her grandchildren. Kathleen was well-liked by all who met her, and she enjoyed family gatherings, dancing, quiet times at home and her visits to Ponderosa Lodge. A special thanks to all the staff at Thrupp Manor who made Kathleen's life so enjoyable over the past years. Also thanks to the staff and doctors at 3 West, to Dr. Stefanyk and to Reverend Victor Gundel.
