We regret to announce that Catherine Regina Fraser passed away peacefully on Jan. 30, 2012, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Dominion, she was the daughter of the late Lauchie and Margaret (MacLeod) Currie.
Catherine at one time was an avid bingo player, enjoyed a good game of cards and in her younger years liked to dance, but most of all, she got great joy at family gatherings.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Rose Mary; sons, Tom (Karen), Kevin (Wendy) and Sheldon (Cathy), all of New Waterford; sisters, Elizabeth (Raymond) MacLeod, New Waterford, and Christy (Gordon) Lovelace, Halifax; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Neil Fraser, daughter, Margaret Theresa, sisters, Margaret (Earl) Mullins, New Brunswick, Mary (Henry) Burns, New Waterford, and Josephine (Fougere), Reserve, brother, Thomas (Rita) Currie, Australia and twin brothers, Johnny and Michael.
Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and a funeral mass to celebrate Catherine’s life will be Thursday, Feb. 2, 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery and a luncheon to follow at the Army and Navy, Smith Street.
