Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, with his wife at his bedside, on January 29th, 2012, Samuel Ronald Horwood, age 83 years, formerly of Carbonear. A retired employee of CN Marine. A devoted member of the Wesley Male Choir. Predeceased by his parents, Stewart and Belinda Horwood; brothers: Baxter (wife Ruth), Joseph (wife Bernice); sister Bertha; and sister-in-law Margaret. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 58 years Helen; brother John (friend Florence); sisters-in-law: Meta Snook, Dorothy Hillier; Aunt Jessie Horwood; good friends and neighbours Ron and Marilyn Randell, Loretta Russell and home care worker Leo O’Brien; Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Tuesday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.- 9 p.m., on Wednesday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 from Wesley United Church.
