Born in St. John's, Nfld., Nov. 3, 1926, daughter of the late Willis and Mary Ann (Best) Burke. Wife of the late William (Bill) Cornwell. Mother of Jean (Fred) Beairsto, Kensington, and Wayne Burke, Summerside. Grandmother of Dean (Trish) Beairsto, Calgary, Alta.; Gregory (Olive), Kensington, and Heather Mae (Jonathan) Zinck, Dartmouth. Great-grandmother of Mary Ann, Megan (Steve Parker), Michael, MacKenzie and Maggie. Sister of Freda (Goodwin) Wiles, Hamilton, Ont. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters, Jean (William) Sweetapple, Mildred (Alfred) Butler, Gladys (William) Luffman, Ruth Hebbard, and Gwendolyn Burke in infancy; brothers James Burke, George (Doris) Burke and John (Betty) Burke; and her daughter-in-law Geraldine Burke.
