STERNIG 1921 - 2006 On Tuesday November 21st, 2006 Stella Sternig peacefully passed away to join her beloved husband Gabriel. She is survived by her children, Gary (Marg) Sternig, Joan (Chris) Clarke, Peter (Sylvia) Sternig, Diane (Richard) Smith, John (Lorel) Sternig. Her sisters Helen (Clair) Methot, Marie (Albert) Piva, Jeanne (Doug) Fosbrooke, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Stella was born in Korchin Poland and immigrated to Kamloops at an early age. There she met her husband and raised her children by the park. Stella will be remembered by many for her work as a house-matron to student nurses at Royal Inland Hospital. Stella's kindness and generosity will long be remembered in the hearts of all her friends and family. The family extends its warmest gratitude to the professional and compassionate caregivers at Bastion Lodge and Pioneer Lodge in Salmon Arm where Stella spent her last years. The Funeral Service honoring Stella will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don Hines officiating.
