Passed away at his residence on February 2, 2012 surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer, Peter Ivany, aged 81 years. Predeceased by his only sister Ena Colwell. Left to celebrate his life, his wife of 55 years, Sheila; his children: John (Alice), Linda, Janet (John Brown), Elizabeth, Peter (Donna); his cherished grandchildren: Jennifer, Kilah, Sonya, Justin and Andrew. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of relatives and friends, especially his long time friends and neighbors, Ben and Maude Lake and their families. Peter was first and foremost a great husband, father, grandfather and devoted parishioner to St. Michael's and All Angels Anglican Church. Peter had a lifelong commitment and involvement in union activities. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. In lieu of flowers donations in Peter's memory may be made to St. Michael's and All Angels Building Fund or a charity of one’s choice.
