Lieu de décès : Canada
In Loving Memory of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather Ian Harry Roberts July 30, 1944 - November 29, 2006 A gentle, caring man with a heart as big as the oceans...his smile an inspiration to those who crossed his path...he leaves a legacy of love in the hearts of all who knew him. Ian was a resident of Kamloops, B.C. for the past eight years, having spent 21 years in Regina and 12 years in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and being raised in Toronto, Ontario. Ian passed away peacefully in his sleep during the early morning hours of November 29, at his Kipp Road home. Ian succumbed to cancer after a four month battle that eventually took his life. Ian leaves behind his loving wife Catherine Roberts of Kamloops, his adored daughter Rebecca Lafond, son-in-law Alain Lafond; eldest son Michael Gnass of Medway, Massachusetts; grandchildren Taylor, Joshua, Zachary, and Alexander Lafond, Nichole Smith and Cody Gnass. He is also survived by his two natural daughters Kimberly Winters (Mark) and Erica Roberts and their children; his sisters Barb Neulle (Harvey) and Mary Baker (Stan) both of Ontario; plus many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. Ian is predeceased by his youngest son Brian Thomas Roberts, his mother Susan Love Roberts, father William Harry Roberts and sister Gail Roberts. Ian was a special man who brought much joy into the lives of many but none more than to his family who he cherished and dotted on. He loved life, living, work, people and helping those in most need of his generosity. He was a gentle man who loved the finer things in life. He touched our lives in ways we could never have imagined. Today he dances in Heaven amongst the Angels there. Ian came into our lives and showed us that life was for living, and that he did, each day of his time here with us. His last wish for us was that we continue to live our lives the way he taught us, "making every moment count", for all too soon ours too shall end. A prayer service will be held at Holy Family Parish (2797 Sunset Drive in Valleyview) on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the church on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 11a.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with lunch to follow in the church hall.
