SURETTE, Evelyn Marie - 75, Lower West Pubnico, died January 31, 2012, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in East Boston, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Leonce and Virginie (d’Entremont) d’Entremont. She was past president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 66 Ladies Auxiliary, member of the West Pubnico Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Les Nouveaux Horizons de la Baronnie, West Pubnico. Evelyn enjoyed the days of the Wednesday Night Players and of line-dancing. Lately she enjoyed daily drives to Yarmouth with Wilbert, and being with family. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren especially brightened her life. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband, Wilbert; sons, Allister (Jill), Lower Argyle; Mervin (Ida), Lower West Pubnico; daughter, Celia (Aubrey) Spinney, Pubnico; half-brother, Douglas “Dougie” (Bertha) d’Eon, Middle West Pubnico; grandchildren, René, Candice, Angela, Leslie, Kate, Marcel, Nadine. She was predeceased by stepfather, Clarence d’Eon. Visitation was held Thursday, February 2 from 4-9 p.m. and Friday, February 3 from 9-9:30 a.m. in West Pubnico Funeral Home, Middle West Pubnico. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. from St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Middle West Pubnico, Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc officiated. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Parkinson Society of Canada, Maritime Region, St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery Fund or charity of choice.
