It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sean Alphonsus Hartery announce his passing on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit, St. John’s at the age of 48 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his father Alphonsus Hartery (Fran); mother Angela Green; brother Stephen Hartery (Marie); sisters: Susan Green (Drew) and Cathy Granlund; step-sisters: Joan and Donna; nephew Blake Hartery, Niece Nicole Smart (Adam), nephew Keith Granlund; great-niece Brielle Smart; special aunt Christine Kelly; close cousins and friends: Gene Kelly and Paul Stratton; as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents George and Lillian Hartery and John and Mary Kelly. A special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff of the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre in St. John’s for all their care and attention. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 7 at 3:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue with Monsignor Edwin Gale officiating. Interment to be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy no flowers by request, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
