Ronald McCavour

McCAVOUR, RONALD PETER - The death of Ron McCavour of Edmonton, Alberta, husband of Midge (Smith) McCavour occurred unexpectedly from a heart attack on February 4, 2012. Born June 16, 1932 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Grenville and Constance (Knodell) McCavour. Ron joined the army in 1950, serving in Korea, Indo-China, two tours of duty in Germany and at various Canadian bases with the 4 RCHA. He retired after 25 years of military service while in Germany and stayed there for seven more years, working at the Military Base Exchange in Lahr. He and Midge returned to Canada to live in London, Ontario for a few years and then moved to Edmonton, to be closer to their daughters. He is survived by his wife Midge; three daughters, Kathy MacKay (Rick), Edmonton, Lynn Fisher, Calgary and Beth Anne Wiwad (Craig), Edmonton, brother Bob (Joyce), Quispamsis; four grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was predeceased by his parents and brother Noel.
At Ron’s request, there was no visitation or funeral. Cremation and burial to take place in Edmonton. Condolences may be sent care of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. MacKay, 16708 94th St. NW Edmonton, Alberta T5Z 1Y1.
