HENDERSON- Hazel Doris late of Paddockwood, SK. passed away December 1, 2009 in Prince Albert at the age of 87 years. Hazel was born December 8, 1921 at the Paddockwood Red Cross hospital to Orpeth and Ellen (nee Weeks) Davis. She grew up in Paddockwood at the family farm and took her schooling at Paddockwood. She worked for a time at the Red Cross Hospital in Paddockwood until she met and married Alexander Henderson and they farmed in the Paddockwood district. After retirement they lived in a senior housing unit in Paddockwood. After Alex passed away in 2003, Hazel continued to live in Paddockwood for a time until she moved to the Golden Acres Care Home in Prince Albert, where she resided until her passing. Hazel was a lifetime member of the Paddockwood Homemakers and an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well as gardening and all social events in the community of Paddockwood. She leaves to mourn her sisters Estelle.
Campbell of Kelowna B.C. and Ellen Micky Hassell of MacKenzie B.C.; her brother Raymond (Hazel R.) Davis of Paddockwood, SK.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Hazel is predeceased by her husband Alexander, her parents Orpeth Andrew and Ellen Davis and her bother-in-law John Campbell. Funeral service will be held on Monday December 7, 2009~2:00 pm at the Paddockwood Hall, with Ray Beckman officiating.
