A man of many friends, Roy was a retired member of Local 269 ILA (International Long Shoremans Union) and worked for Halterm in Halifax. Roy also worked in Detroit, MI as a Long Shoreman for 17 years. Roy was a life long Merchant Marine Seaman in Canada and the States, proudly serving during the Korean War. He spent the past 14 years living between homes in Florida and Nova Scotia. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Roy was loved by all who knew him. He will be especially remembered for his love of Irish music, his amazing sense of humor, storytelling and quick wit, love of the ocean and his stories of his world travels. He always left you laughing. We will hold onto those precious memories forever. A true gift of a man he was.
