CHARTERS, GORDON ALDEN - It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Gordon Alden Charters of Fredericton, NB, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on February 8th, 2012. Born in Fredericton on May 25th, 1930, he was the son of the late Lewis and Jemina Charters. Gordon is survived by his wife, Nellie Charters (Mott); sons, Michael Charters of Sydney, Australia and Gary Charters (Kimberly) of Fredericton; three grandchildren, Brittany, Brandi and Bailey Charters; and nephew, Sean Russell. In addition to his parents, Gordon was predeceased his brothers, John, Edward and Harry; and his sisters Audrey, Gladys and Ardith.
There will be no visitation at Gordon’s request. A memorial service will be held in the J.A McAdam Memorial Chapel at 2 pm on Saturday, February 11th, 2012 with Rev. Doug Hapemen officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gordon's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
