CUMMING, Ian Frederick – 68, Truro, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 4, 2009, at home. Born September 20, 1941, in Truro, he was a son of the late Ian Campbell and Freda Kathleen (McNutt) Cumming. Ian loved sports, especially hockey, and cheering on his favourite team, the Montreal Canadiens. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, enjoyed playing cribbage and 45s and was an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. Ian is survived by his son, Ross, Truro; brother, James “Jim†(Sherry) Cumming, Bible Hill; sister, Lynne (Gerry) Lantz, Dieppe, New Brunswick; nephews, Benjamin “Benâ€, William “Willâ€; niece, Gerriann (Brian) Davidson; Grace Cumming, Bible Hill. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Sally Ann and Shelly Virginia in infancy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. If so desired, donations in Ian’s memory to a charity of choice are welcomed.
