DOUGLAS HOWARD HUNTER 1932 - 2006 Suddenly on December 25th, 2006, Douglas Hunter passed away at the age of 74 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Helen, two sons Frank (Kathy) of Langley, BC, Michael (Monette) of Kamloops, BC, as well as one sister Patricia (Terry) Steer of White Rock, BC, also four grandchildren, Frank's daughters Faith and Charlotte and Mike's sons, Ryan and Jacob. Doug was predeceased by his daughter Nancy in 1969, also sisters, Esther, Eleanor and Audrey. Doug served five years in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1951 to 1956, and in 1953 he sailed to Korea on the HMCS Crusader. Doug was proud of his time in the service. Doug and Helen celebrated their 47th Anniversary on December 19th. Over the years they had many adventures together. They spent ten years in the rural community of Cherryville, BC, and Doug was given an honorary life membership in the Cherryville Community Association. They later moved to Saskatoon, Sk., living there for 5 years before returning to the Lower Mainland where they went into apartment management and were well known in the Burnaby and New Westminster areas. They would later move to Kamloops in 2004 residing here since. This kind, quiet and gentle man will be dearly missed by his loving family as well as the McWhinnies, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
