NEW GLASGOW – David Carson Sheehan, age 66, of Helene St., New Glasgow, passed away suddenly December 3, 2009, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Daniel E. and Mary (King) Sheehan. David had been a resident of New Glasgow all of his life.
He was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister and cross bearer.
David owned and operated David’s Paint and Wallpaper store in downtown New Glasgow from where he retired.
He is survived by his fiancee, Betty Chisholm, New Glasgow; sisters, Dolly (Vincent) MacDonald, Greenwood; Elizabeth Millen, New Glasgow; Frances Thompson, Trenton; brothers, Joseph Gordon, New Glasgow; Doug (Mary), New Glasgow; Angus (Carol), Ontario; sister-in-law Vivian Sheehan, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Raymond (Gloria) Sheehan, Daniel “Budâ€, brothers-in-law, Warren Millen and Robert Thompson. Visitation was held in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of David may be made to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, the Aberdeen Hospital or the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
