CARON: Emile Joseph Caron of Swift Current, SK passed away at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK on Thursday, Deember 3, 2009 at the age of 93 years. Emile was born in Gravelbourg, Sask on May 10, 1916 to Simeon Caron and Alexandrine Laflamme. He was educated at Gauthier school. Emile was overseas from 1940 - 1945. He served in the 4th Division of the Royal Canadian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers. He married Necia Robinson at 6 a.m. on July 1, 1947. They had one child, a son - Kenneth. Their lives were sadly changed when Ken died in a motorcycle accident in 1996. Necia and Emile were blessed with two grandchildren- Cass and Bailey. They so enjoyed their visits and were always interested in hearing about their lives and accomplishments. Emile absolutely loved the game of bridge, playing seriously and with great skill. He also played many hands of cribbage with friends and family. In his younger days, he enjoyed golfing. During his working years, he was employed by Revelstoke and Co-Op hardware stores, Imperial Hotel and Horseshoe Lodge. He loved music - singing and dancing always brought a smile to his face. He looked forward to getting together with family at Christmas and other special occasions, planning bridge tournaments and eating turkey and tourtiere!! Emile's sweet tooth was legend. There was always some kind of candy around the house. He will always be held in high esteem by the family due to the devotion and love shown to Necia after her unfortunate accident when she was 52. This changed both their lives - him becoming her caregiver for some 30 + years. His patience and understanding allowed her the maximum independence she longed for. Emile is predeceased by his wife, Necia, son Ken, parents Simeon and Alexandrine, twin sisters in infancy, brothers Albert, Charlie, Paul, Cesaire and sister Claira. He is survived by grandson Cass Caron, granddaughter Bailey Caron, great niece Penny L'Heureux and many nieces and nephews.
Emile's passing marks the last of his generation in his and Necia's family. His 93 years of life were remarkable for the diversity of things he did, people whose lives he touched and service to his family, church and country. We, his grandchildren, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, great great and great great great nephews and nieces will not soon forget our Uncle Emile.
