HANSEN, GORDON H. - At the Grand Falls General Hospital, February 20, 2012, Mr. Gordon H. Hansen, 79, of New Denmark passed away. He was married to the former Alice Mae Leslie. Born at New Denmark in 1932, he was a son of the late Soren and Ethel Bessie (Carlsen) Hansen. He is survived by his wife, one son, Dean (Terry) of Saint John, two daughters, Terri Johnsen (Robbie) of New Denmark and Jeanne Thomsen (Stephen) of Toronto, seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Holly, Andrew, Kyle, Brad, Vanessa and Dana, five great grandchildren, Marissa, Andrew, Madeline, Joshua and Kyle, three sisters, Bernice Brinkman (late Simon) of New Denmark, Betty Ketch (Arthur) of Jacksonville and Yetta Christensen (Gordon) of New Denmark, sister-in-law, Ruth Hansen of Anfield, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Gordon Joey in 1978, one brother, Harman Hansen and one sister Aimee Merriam.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls where visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. His funeral service will be held Thursday, February 23rd at 2 p.m. from the funeral home with Rev. Leonard Cousins officiating. A reception will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Church basement, New Denmark. Interment will be in St. Ansgar's Cemetery, New Denmark. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Extra-Mural Hospital Program or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. www.oregans.ca
