COATES, GRACE A long time resident of Kamloops, passed away on February 3, 2007 in Toronto where she was visiting her two daughters. Grace was born in Kamloops and spent her 88 years here. She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Tate (Howard) and Ann Coates, grandsons Bradley (Lesya) and Mark Tate of all Toronto, and nephews Jack, Jim and Bob Clarke. Grace was predeceased by her husband, Jack Coates and brothers Ted, Harold and Bob Clarke. Grace loved the Kamloops area, exploring the various backroads with her husband, as well as enjoying many wonderful summers with her family at their cabin on Shuswap Lake. She was particularly fond of Riverside Park and often talked of swimming and skating on the Thompson River while growing up with her three brothers. Grace worked for the B.C. Telephone Company prior to and for some years while raising her family. Her immediate family will be celebrating her life and mourning her loss in Toronto. Her ashes will be buried beside her husband at Pleasant Street Cemetery in Kamloops. At Grace's request there will be no service.
