
Robert Horton
HORTON, ROBERT - Surrounded by his loving family, Robert (Bob) Sterling Horton passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Born February 25, 1926 in Toronto, ON he was the son of the late Clarence and Reta (Cline) Horton. Robert, the last surviving member of his immediate family was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, salmon fish and garden. He began his career in the family business Horton & Walsh Luggage, he later moved on to real estate for several years with Finley Mullin and Canada Permanent. He is survived by his partner Elaine Whipple of Saint John; his son David (Susan Kasper) Horton of Saint John; daughters Susan (Paul) Shonaman of Saint John, Sandra (Norman) McIntyre of McAdam, NB and Kelly (Jay) McCluskey of Saint John; two grandchildren Trisha (Kyle) Guptill and Michelle (Corey Langille) McIntyre; three great-grandchildren Faith Guptill, Hayden Guptill and Logan Langille; cousin Gloria (Murray) Richardson of Deer Island, NB. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Shirley Horton.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday, February 23 from 7 to 9 pm and Friday, February 24, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. Private family interment will be held in Fernhill Cemetery at a later date.
