On January 13, 2007 Agnes "Ruth" Hetherington (Cambridge) passed away peacefully at the Williams Lake Seniors Village at the age of 93 years. Ruth was born on December 23, 1913 in Coquitlam, BC. She spent most of her life moving throughout BC and Alberta but always returned to Kamloops, as she fondly remembered her childhood trips to visit her grandparents Sam and Emily Armour at the 70 Ranch on the North Thompson. Ruth will be sadly missed by her sons Gordon (Diane) Robinson, Randy (Kathy) Robinson; her daughter Laurel-Anne (David) Haller; four grandsons; two granddaughters; and three great-grandsons. She leaves to mourn her brother Frank (Lillian) Cambridge; and her sisters Emily (Michael) Latta and Joan Landie; numerous nieces and nephews; especially Doug (Irene) Cambridge. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Arthur Hetherington in 1986, her parents, her brothers Jack, Rod and Dick. A business woman, volunteer with SPCA, and an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary for some 60 years. She will be remembered by many special friends. Her award winning gardens were enjoyed by many. Her home was always open to family and friends and a safe haven for many beloved pets. A memorial will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007 with an internment at 10:00 AM at the Pleasant Street Cemetery followed by 11:00 AM services at the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Refreshments to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion. In lieu of flowers donations can be made on Ruth's behalf to your local SPCA or the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #52
