MARIA D. JOHNSTONE Nov. 29, 1951 - Feb. 27, 2007 It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of our beloved Wife and Mother, Maria, after a sudden infection. Maria was born on a horse ranch near Collipuli, Chile and was raised by her Grandparents until she was about 10. She left home at 16 to make her mark. She married and had two daughters, but was forced to flee Chile (Pinochet) and emmigrate to Canada. She arrived in Edmonton in October of 1976, and being the hard worker she always was, had employment within 3 weeks. She worked various jobs, finally as a poultry processor at Lilydale. She met her husband Gordon in 1985, and moved to Kamloops in 1987. Maria touched many people's lives in her all too short life. She is survived by her husband Gordon, daughters Paola and Marcela, stepsons Cory (Andrea) and Steven (Brandy), granddaughters Chantel, Sydney and Morgan, and grandsons Devon, Marco, Andrew and Michael. A Remembrance of her life will be held at her home, 626 Comox Ave. from 1:30 to much later on Saturday, March 3rd. May she rest in peace.
