HALLETT, Elsie May (nee Snell) 1920 - 2007 Ellie passed away peacefully on January 3, 2007, just 3 days before her 87th birthday, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her husband, Bill and her siblings, Fred, Leah and Teddy. She is survived by her sister, Merda (Neil) and brother Jim (Mickey) and her children, Rick (Susan), Jim (Adele), Wendy (Chris), Gerry and Vicky (John). She was also the proud grandmother of six grandchildren; Michael (Kirstin), Jody, Graeme (Jessica), Fraser, Braden and Jocelyn. Ellie was born on January 6, 1920 in Richmound, Saskatchewan and grew up in Taber, Alberta. In her younger years she excelled in track and field, sewing, sketching and dancing. During the war years she lived in Calgary and worked as a secretary for the RCAF. By 1948 she was living in Vancouver where she met and married Bill Hallett. They had 56 happy years together and spent their last few years living in Kamloops, B.C. Ellie enjoyed gardening, photography, boating, fishing, arts and crafts, getting away to Gabriola Island and spending time with her family. We will all miss her radiant personality and welcoming smile. A memorial celebrating her life will take place later this spring. If you wish to attend, please contact Wendy Hallett, 604-430-4599.
