Duncan Erwin Murray, aged 96, of Belmont Avenue, Stellarton, passed away on February 27, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in West Branch, Pictou County, he was the son of Alexander J. and Mary (McTavish) Murray.
He was a resident of Belmont Avenue, Stellarton for the past 64 years and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. A former locomotive engineer, he worked for the CNR for 38 years.
He is survived by sons: Allan, Stellarton; Stuart (Ruby), Newmarket, Ontario; Peter “Sandy” (Mary), Halifax; two grandchildren, David and Nancy, both of Newmarket, Ontario.
He was predeceased by his wife Isabel, brother John and sister Estelle.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 2nd from 1-2 p.m. with the funeral following at 2 p.m. at the MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will take place at the Abercrombie Cemetery.
Donation in memory of Duncan may be made to the Aberdeen Health Foundation or to the First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton.
