EVERETT, MARY LOUISE - Mary L. Everett of Lower Queensbury, NB passed away March 1, 2012 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in 1927 at Lower Line Queensbury, NB, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Edna (Brown) Currie. Mary had been employed in computer systems for the government for many years. She operated a ceramic business, riding stables, sugarbush and campground. She was also the first woman to drive a school bus in Nackawic. Mary volunteered for St. John Ambulance, Meals on Wheels and volunteering Fridays at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She loved dancing, card parties, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and walking her dog Sasha. Mary was a member of the Queensbury Widows and Ladies Morning Out. Mary is survived by a daughter, Ann McGarvie (Alwyn), Lower Queensbury, NB; two sons, Wilfred Everett, Tweedside, NB and Richard Everett, Sacramento, California; two grandchildren, Andrea McGarvie, Lower Queensbury, NB and Benjamin McGarvie, Mactaquac, NB; chosen family members, Bonnie and Ken Burke, Lower Queensbury, NB and Susan Dugas, Dieppe, NB; brother-in-law, Fred Everett (Kit), Islandview, NB and sister-in-law, Christina Meating, Sault Ste. Marie, ON; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, J. Edward Everett; three sisters, Jean Barton, Marjorie LaGrandeur and Norma Trail; a brother, Wendell Currie..
Visiting hours will be held at Mactaquac Baptist Church, 1494 Route 105, Mactaquac, NB on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the church. with Rev. Peter Beckwith officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Interment will take place later at Mactaquac Cemetery.
