Douglas Allen Gadsden On March 18, 2007 Doug passed away peacefully at home, after a short battle with cancer, with his family by his side. He will be dearly missed by his wife Marion, daughter Kathy (Bruce) Blackall and stepsons, Leonard (Carol) Bryan, David (Brenda) Bryan, Neil and four grandchildren Jason, Sarah, MacKenzie and Meghan. Doug was born in Bella Coola on January 14, 1930. At the age of 12, he moved to Ocean Falls where he later started his Pulp Mill career. His career took him to many places: Duncan, Prince George, Kitimat, Fort Frances and Kamloops until his retirement in 1993. Doug and Marion spent 14 wonderful years at the Shuswap enjoying family and friends. The final move in October 2005 brought them back to Kamloops to a new home that Doug truly loved. Special thanks to Cheri (Palliative care nurse) and Chris and Mae Covernton for their support. A memorial service will be held at the Kamloops United Church, 421 St. Paul on March 27, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House at 72 Whiteshield Crescent South Kamloops, B.C. V2E 2S9 or the Canadian Cancer Society in Doug's memory.
