GILLETT, ANNA KATHLEEN (KIRKPATRICK) - Anna Kathleen (Kirkpatrick) Gillett of Hoyt NB passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Thursday, March 1, 2012 surrounded by her family. Anna was born in Hoyt, February 13, 1938 to the late Leland Kirkpatrick and Ruby (Moore) Kirkpatrick of White Rapids Manor. Besides her mother, Anna is survived by her Husband of 54 years George Gillett, four daughters; Kathy (Roy) Johnston, Brenda Gillett, Pam Shannon, and Sherry Gillett all of Hoyt, two sons; Ricky (Gail) Gillett of Fredericton Junction and Randy Gillett of Hoyt, one sister Marsha (Ronnie) Boyle of Tracy, six grandchildren; Tim (Melissa) and Keith Johnston, David and Nicki (Keegan) Gillett, Amber (Robert) and Jenna (Lucas) Shannon, as well as her two beloved great granddaughters Harmony & Jenica, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Anna will also be missed by her pen pal of over 60 years, Valerie Drew of England. Anna was predeceased by her father as well as two nephews Preston and Christopher Boyle. Anna was a home maker to her family, was a member of the Hoyt Rec. Center and a past member of the LOBA#891. She was a reporter for the Hoyt area with the community Rural Edition from 1979 up to and including the March issue. Anna was a faithful member of the Patterson United Church and a member of the UCW and the Ladies Aid. Anna loved to knit and could be found with her knitting just about anywhere she and George were, including hockey games. Anna will be remembered by softball players near and far for her famous "Hoyt Dogs", a hot dog made with love that just couldn't be found anywhere else but from the Hoyt Rec. Center when Anna was cooking.
Friends and Family are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home on Sunday March 4, 2012 for visitations from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday from the Patterson United Church at 2:00pm with Rev. Jeffro Bursey officiating. Interment will be in the Patterson United Cemetery at a later date.
