MUNRO Lyle Frank Munro passed away on March 31, 2007, in Kamloops, BC at 71 years of age. He is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Marie (Bill) Houston and son Terry Munro; grandchildren Kim and Trevor Houston; brothers Bruce (Phyllis) of Chilliwack, and Ken (Lil) of Cache Creek, sisters Ruth Karr of Vernon and Joan (Ev) Timms of Clinton. Lyle was predeceased by his son Dale in 2001 and by his sister Doris McKay of Chilliwack. Lyle was born on November 3, 1935 in Chilliwack, BC to Stan and Annie Munro. He grew up in Flood and moved with the family to Clinton in the 1940's. After attending school in Clinton, he worked in the logging industry, then for Sid Elliot in his service station where he operated a backhoe. After marriage to Pat, the family moved to Houston, BC for a short time and then to Smithers where he drove a redi-mix concrete truck for Mound Concrete. Before leaving Smithers, Lyle worked for Vihar Construction, operating their wash and screening plant in the Skillhorn Pit. After living in Smithers for 36 years, Pat and Lyle retired to Kamloops and built a house in Barnhartvale. Lyle loved camping and fishing with his family. Lyle was a member of Smithers Elks Lodge #240, where he made many lifelong friends. Before leaving Smithers, he was proud to receive his 25 year pin. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 7, 2007 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Vern Frudd officiating. Donations in Lyle's memory may be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice House, 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, BC V2E 2S9, in lieu of flowers.
