
Iroi "Roy" LeBlanc
LeBLANC, IROI "ROY" - Iroi "Roy" LeBlanc, age 84, beloved husband of Philomene (LeBlanc) for 57 years, passed away peacefully at Riverside Rehabilitation on February 4, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on April 19, 1927 son of the late Regis and Elise (Gould) LeBlanc. He retired after 42 years of employment from the Bricklayers Local Union # 1 and recently received his Union Card celebrating 64 years as a member. Many of his structures still stand today. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Third Degree 3901 of East Hartford. He enjoyed traveling home to Canada, gardening, puzzles, walking, scratch tickets and mostly time spent with his family. He is survived by his four children, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Maria and Walter Purvis (Andrew and Arthur) of Hartford, Francis and Madeline LeBlanc (Lindsay and Conor) of Glastonbury, Ann and Bill Moffett (Mindy Croft-Anthony, David, Sofia), (William Moffett) of East Hartford, and John and Kathleen LeBlanc (Shannon and Timothy) of South Windsor. He leaves one sister Merante Maillet of Ontario, Canada, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Noe and Mabel LeBlanc of Orlando, Florida. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and great neighbors. He was predeceased by a sister Yvonne and brothers Reggie and Alyre, sister in-law Doris LeBlanc and brother in law Phylias Maillet all of Canada.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:30 AM, at St. Rose Church, 33 Church Street, East Hartford. Private burial. Many thanks to Riverside Rehabilitation and Masonic Hospice Care during his time of need.
