It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cecil Young announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the age of 88 years. He will be sadly missed by his special friend Kay McCann and family; two sons: Bernard (Patricia) of Sudbury, Ontario, Cecil Jr. of Corner Brook; two daughters: Joan (Norbert) Alexander of Kippens, Marion (Wayne) Power of Calgary; two brothers: Adrian Young (Isabel) of Stephenville, Leonard (Jean) Young of Kippens; four sisters: Theresa (Roy) Cunning of Pasadena, Adele LeCoure of Kippens, Denota (Ralph) Comstock of USA, Bertha (Jim) Williams of USA; ten grandchildren: Keith, Wayne, Kevin, Michael, Scott, Tracy, Neil, Daniel, Jasmine, Jerrica; six great-grandchildren: Ethan, Ava, Chase, Mya, Jarrett, Easton and also leaving to mourn his second wife Ethel’s family and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Alice Maddox in 1999 and second wife, Ethel Young in 2008, brothers, Martin, Matthew and Maurice Young, sister, Geraldine Jonca, parents, Daniel Young and Mary Ellen Savidon. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Thursday, March 8th from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at the Maria Regina Parish in Port au Port East on Friday, March 9th at 2:00 p.m. with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Port au Port East. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Maria Regina Parish Memorial Fund.
