The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Friday, July 11th, 2008, of Alyre J. Myers of DeBlois, age 91 years. Beloved husband of the late Rita (Doucette) Myers. He was born in Leoville on Sept. 17, 1916, to the late Emmanuel and Angeline (Gaudet) Maillet. Dear father of Audrey (Mark) Ellsworth, Palmer Road; Billy (Irene) Myers, Palmer Road; Claudia (Jim) Arsenault, Lower Sackville N.S.; Mary (Donnie) Perry, DeBlois and Nora (Clarence) Buote, DeBlois with whom he resided. Loving grandfather of Sheila MacIntyre and Paulette Arsenault, Troy and Melanie Myers, Amanda Morvan and Suzanne Arsenault, Nick and Samantha Perry, and Jeffrey and Steven Buote and great-grandfather to Jessica and Sarah MacIntyre, Karson and Brae Myers and Jensen Morvan. He is also survived by a sister Esther Perry, Merigomish, N.S. and a sister-in-law Theresa Myers of the Maplewood Manor, Alberton. He was predeceased by his parents Emmanual and Angeline, his wife Rita, daughter Karleen, grandson Rodney, brother Emile, and sisters Bernice, Eva and Eleanor. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home Palmer Road with visiting hours on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral will be held on Monday, July 14th, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations to the Immaculate Conception Parish Fund would be greatly appreciated. Tignish Legion members will hold a service of remembrance on Sunday evening at 6:45 at the funeral home.
