Ruth Irene "Rene" Keith July 1, 1912 - April 5, 2007 Mrs. Keith passed away pecefully at Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops in her 95th year. Rene was born in Lancashire, England. She lived in the Isle of Man for several years before emigrating with her family to Moose jaw, Saskatchewan in 1952. In 1960 she moved to Victoria. In 1976 she retired to Kamloops; she enjoyed living in Silver Threads for 25 years. Another year was spent in Bedford Manor before she moved to Ponderosa Lodge. Rene is survived by her daughter Irene (Hank) Bepple of Kamloops. She was the proud "Nanny" of her five granddaughters - Heather Bepple, Janice (Doug) Weeks, Nancy Bepple and Alison Bepple (all of Kamloops) and Judy Bepple (Frank Keijzer) of Holland. Her family also included nine great grandchildren - Don MacArthur, Jennifer MacArthur, Liz Keam, Courtenay Reedman, Ian Reedman, Robyn Bepple, Tyson McInnes, Thom Keijzer, and Peter Keijzer. Also eight great, great grandchildren - Levi, Austin, Montana, Jayden, Drew, Marissa, Emily and Warrick. She was predeceased by her son Gerald in 1936 and her husband Harry in 1957. A celebration of her life will be held on April 27, 2007 at Hills of Peace Lutheran Church, 695 Robson Drive at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Brian Krushel officiating. Her ashes will be interred in England at a later date. The family wish to thank the caring staff at both Bedford Manor and Ponderosa Lodge. Also Barb (Community Care Nurse), Dr. Simpson and Sue. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Her favourite saying was "The old grey mare, she ain't what she used to be".
