The family of the late Donnie Duncan MacDonald wish to express our sincere gratitude for the support extended to us by family, friends and neighbors during our recent loss. Thank you to all who phoned and visited Donnie during his illness along with those who sent get well cards and gift baskets. A special thank you to everyone who offered words of comfort through sympathy cards, online condolences, mass cards, flowers, charitable donations made in Donnie's memory and to those who brought food to our home. Also thank you to those who attended the wake and funeral and those who travelled long distances to be with us. Our sincere thank you to both Fr. Frank Abbass and Fr. Dan MacInnis for officiating the lovely Mass. Also we would like to thank Fr. Dan for his never ending support. Thank you to the pallbearers, Raymond Deleskie, Sandy MacNeil, A.J. MacLean, Arnold Hall, Joe Capstick and Douglas Denny. Also a special thanks to Donnie's good friend, John D. MacDonald. Thanks to Carl MacKenzie and Carol MacDougall for providing the beautiful fiddle and organ music and to the altar servers who participated in the Mass. Thank you to Baba MacArthur, Fran MacLean and Juanita Currie for the lovely readings. Also a special thank you to St. Mary's CWL for hosting the reception. A special thanks to Donnie's nieces, Fran MacLean and Charlene Pedersen for their kindness and support during his time in palliative care. A special thank you to Anne Marie McCarthy for the lovely meal she prepared for our family during the wake. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Robert Todd, Dr. Elwood MacMullin, the nursing staff and palliative care staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, as well as the VON nurses who visited Donnie at home. Thank you to Bill Curry and staff at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel for their exemplary service and professionalism.
