Bonita GAIL Garneau (nee Beadle)

Lieu de naissance : Canada

Lieu de décès : Canada

Bonita GAIL Garneau, June 28, 1948 - February 28, 2007 Gail was pre deceased by her parents, Harry and Verona (nee Dunlop) Beadle. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, friend and companion of 37 + years Mike, her son Marc and his girlfriend Cody, her brother Glen Beadle and wife Jan of Prince George, father in law Dr. Jean Garneau of Ottawa Ontario, sister and brother in law Denyse and Daniel Beauchamp of Calgary Alberta, Nicole and Brian Chessel of Kincardin Ontario and many other relatives and friends she made along the way. One of her lifelong ambitions was to go to Africa where she met many wonderful people on her extended journey. Gail was born in Vancouver where she grew up and started her working career at the Woodward's downtown store in the Gift Wrapping, Return and Complaint Department. The skills she aquired in gift wrapping were legendary, to which she used to the end as no one could quite wrap presents as well as her, even though she much preferred to give presents rather than receiving them, as she always had a heart of gold and loved making someone happy! She later transferred to Woodward's in Oakridge where she was soon managing the Record Department before her final transfer to Park Royal Lady's Wear, handling all of their accounting and book keeping. She left Woodward's in 1977 to start a family. She moved to Kamloops with her husband and son in 1980, where she was soon called upon by various struggling Non Profit Organizations for her accounting skills and quick thinking to put them on sound financial footing, as she could never say no to anyone in need. She was also a voracious reader and Licensed Amateur Radio Operator, being one of many volunteering their communication skills throughout the 2003 Fire Season. She suffered from ongoing health problems but always met new challenges head on and never complained throughout. Whenever a new experimental treatment was proposed to her, she always jumped at the chance to try it with the thought that even if it didn't work out for her, whatever was learned might be helpful for someone else in the future. Everyone in the Medical field who dealt with her, came away impressed with her can do attitude and cheerful disposition at whatever new hurdles she had to face. Gail wanted to especially thank Dr. Burdge, as she always called him HER ROCK, and his wonderful team in Vancouver who were instrumental in extending her life at each critical phase. Dr. Pick, his Colleague, personally spent many hours accessing the resources required to facilitate Gail's care while we were in Vancouver for an extended 8-month period last year. She would also like to thank the Vancouver Cancer Agency. We wish to thank Dr. T.R. Eccleston in Kamloops who always went that extra mile in managing her care. The Hospice and the Home Care Program in Kamloops were also instrumental by providing the support required to enable her to stay home where she passed away peacefully with her family and dog by her side, as she had wished. Last but not least Gail wanted to express a special thank you to Joan Funk who was always there when needed. Gail loved and lived life to the fullest. There will be a celebration of Gail's life at 640 Settlement in Westsyde on Saturday, May the 5th between 1 - 4 PM. FMI Please call Mike @ 250-554-2955 or Joan 250-579-9552 Instead of flowers, if you wish, donations can be made on her behalf to the Kamloops SPCA, as Gail always loved animals or to the charity of your choice.
